House Appropriations hearing on NNSA, EM budget requests
Today, the House Appropriations Energy and Water Development subcommittee will hold a hearing on the FY23 budget request for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management (DOE-EM) beginning at 2:15pm EST.

Witnesses for the hearing include the Honorable Jill Hruby, Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and Administrator of the NNSA, as well as Deputy Administrators of the NNSA. EM Senior Advisor William "Ike" White will also testify at the hearing.
The Administration's FY23 budget request for NNSA is $21.4 billion, a $700 million increase over the FY22 enacted level, continuing a string of increases that have nearly doubled the NNSA budget over the last seven years. The DOE budget justification document for NNSA may be found here.
The Administration's FY23 budget request for EM is $8.06 billion, a $160 million increase over the FY22 enacted level, continuing a series of increased requests for EM.
